Subscriber Feedback for Gp Research Review

چکیده

In this issue: Welcome to issue 100 of GP Research Review. Shaun Holt propositioned me in the Koru Club in Auckland about a concept he had, called Research Review, some eight years ago; I had no idea that it would still be running – I had no idea that it would now have over 5500 subscribers and would be something I still thoroughly enjoy doing. Although it is supported by industry advertising never once in the 100 editions has there been any editorial compromise, or editorial requirements. My comments are completely my own.

Exploring Patients’ Views Toward Giving Web-Based Feedback and Ratings to General Practitioners in England: A Qualitative Descriptive Study

BACKGROUND Patient feedback websites or doctor rating websites are increasingly being used by patients to give feedback about their health care experiences. There is little known about why patients in England may give Web-based feedback and what may motivate or dissuade them from giving Web-based feedback. OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to explore patients' views toward giving Web-based ...

Verifying appraisal evidence using feedback from trained peers: views and experiences of Scottish GP appraisers.

BACKGROUND GP appraisal is currently considered inadequate because it lacks robustness. Objective assessment of appraisal evidence is needed to enable judgements on professional performance to be made. AIM To determine GP appraisers' views of the acceptability, feasibility, and educational impact of external peer feedback received on three core appraisal activities undertaken as part of this ...

Minimum mean-squared error decision-feedback equalization for digital subscriber line transmission with possibly correlated line codes

Most of the published theory on the optimal performance of decision-feedback equalization under the MMSE criterion addresses the transmission of i.i.d. symbol sequences only. This paper presents a theory which accommodates the case of correlated symbol sequences. It also considers the use of a fractionally spaced forward filter in the decision-feedback equalizer (DFE). Two limiting conditions a...

Barriers and attitudes influencing non-engagement in a peer feedback model to inform evidence for GP appraisal

BACKGROUND The UK general practitioner (GP) appraisal system is deemed to be an inadequate source of performance evidence to inform a future medical revalidation process. A long-running voluntary model of external peer review in the west of Scotland provides feedback by trained peers on the standard of GP colleagues' core appraisal activities and may 'add value' in strengthening the robustness ...

Comparison of precoding schemes for digital subscriber lines

|Precoding at the transmitter side is a practicable method for transmission over intersymbol interference channels. In contrast to decision{feedback equalization no error propagation occurs and coded modulation can be applied as for the intersymbol interference free channel. In this paper, Tomlinson{Harashima precoding and exible precoding are analyzed and compared. The dualities and di erences...
